Now live: whole-VM and single-disk backups, automatic schedules, and retention you control. Available in the dashboard, API, SDK, and CLI.
Backup schedules & retention
Hourly, daily, or weekly backups with keep-N retention — per VM, disk, or project. Dashboard schedules are shown in your browser’s local time.
Whole-VM backups
Capture boot and attached data disks with recorded consistency, then restore every captured disk into a new VM. The original stays untouched.
Single-disk backups
Point-in-time copies of attached or unattached disks. Restore a new disk even after deleting the source. Backups stay in the original datacenter.
Bring your own observability.
Now live in the dashboard, API, Go SDK v1.1.2, and CLI v1.1.2: scoped credentials, project metrics for Grafana or your own Prometheus, and infrastructure alerts.
Scoped API keys & service accounts
Project service accounts with explicit capabilities, and short-lived GitHub Actions authentication without a saved Metalhost key. CLI v1.1.2 and SDK v1.1.2 include these APIs.
Prometheus metrics endpoint
Project-scoped VM metrics: scrape into your Prometheus or connect Grafana directly to hosted PromQL history. Baseline telemetry is included; expanded guest monitoring is opt-in.
Infrastructure alerts
VM down, CPU pegged, disk filling up — you define the rules, delivered in-app, by email, or to your webhooks.
Networking, completed.
October rounds out the network story: keep your addresses, balance your traffic, boot your own images, drive it all from Terraform.
Reserved & floating IPv4
Reserve public IPs, move them between VMs without a restart, keep them across rebuilds.
Managed load balancers
L4 TCP balancing with health checks across your VMs. High availability without the duct tape.
Custom VM images
Upload your own qcow2 images, boot new VMs from them, reimage existing ones in place.
Official Terraform provider
VMs, disks, firewalls, keys — the whole platform as code, on the public registry.
